When skies are gray do I really want my wall color to be, too?

Now that Springtime is teasing us with temps in the 70's I'm getting the urge to pull the trigger on new paint colors for the house. We plan to get the entire main level painted along with the staircase and balcony. Making that big of a decision about paint colors kinda makes me want to shat myself. Choosing paint colors is HARD!

First world dilemma, I know.

But still a dilemma that I've gotta work out. I want to start in the sunroom since it's the smallest room with the least amount of painting to be done. Whenever we took the curtains down there was an ugly green strip along the top of the wall. Maybe they didn't let the paint dry before putting up the valances? Who knows. There's also wall anchors every few feet where they screws were located. All that has got to be covered up and puttied over.



So I was wondering if you guys wanted to put your two cents in and help me figure all this out.

This is my sunroom.



My only sunroom.



It makes me happy when skies are gray.



But the wall color is just way too dark for the mood I want in my house these days. When I look at my pinterest boards, I can clearly see that my style has changed dramatically from the dark beige and burgundy traditional stuff I've had for the past few years.



I'm craving light.



Here are the wall colors that we've sampled. The difference between all of these might be indistinguishable on your monitor, but we will give it a whirl anyway.



These are all Sherwin Williams paint colors, by the way.

In person they are more varied in color, but not by much. J thought the paint salesman forgot to put in the color when he opened all the jars. He was ready to return them until he painted the walls and saw a little difference.

So here are the top four for me and my shoddy Photoshop paint job of the room.

SW North Star
This one has a periwinkle undertone, which could smack of baby nursery if not played just right. Or, it might just be the perfect complimentary tone to go with the white trim and grey-blue desk.


SW Front Porch
This one is grayish, easygoing, but a bit on the blah side. I like the idea of gray since it's trendy right now, but could I really live with grey walls? Hmmm.


SW Panda White
This one is a nice creamy antique white. Predictable, but comfortable. Easy but not much of a risk.


SW Sea Salt
This one is a chalky blue/green that has a chance of turning into Colgate toothpaste on me. Or being fabulous. I can't decide.


So, there you go. The sunroom begs to be freed from the dark beige. But which way should we go? I need a color that will keep me happy even when skies are gray.

HELP! Please? You'll never know, dears, how much I love you for advising me on this one.
